Yup, this is post #140. We've had some memorable ones. . . we have Simon, we are going to have a baby, my dad filed for divorce. . . and some casual ones. . . the boys arguing over pretend baby chicks, the facebook dilemma, a date for Gary and I. . .
Well, 140 will be one of the memorable ones.
We know who our next child is. Yup, we've never found out before, but we wanted to do something different with this pregnancy, as well as prepare our kids for their sibling's arrival.
The ultrasound went great! The best part is: everything seems to be working. Stomach, heart, bladder, spine, two arms and legs and hands and feet. . . it looks great. We are so very thankful. Bless God! We asked Dr. Taylor to not tell us during the exam, but instead to write it down on the paper we brought and put it into an envelope. We wanted to open it together. He said he would. . . and that he would write down a percentage of the probability of it being a boy or a girl.
Gary and I left the office and headed to CityVu restaurant. My sister and her husband had given us a gift card and so we were off for an amazing meal. We waited until we had ordered (oh the suspense!) and then we took out the envelope. Gary opened it and looked. . . and then he bowed and prayed as he thanked God for our new wonderful daughter. I loved finding out about my daughter while my husband led us in prayer for her. Lots of tears and laughter. Oh the joy! (He did write down that there is a 90% chance of her being a girl. We'll take it.)
Penelope (Penny) Joyce Sprick will hopefully be arriving mid-May. She'll be prayed for every day and she join her big sister Noel in a bedroom. She is named after her Grandma Karen (Gary's mom) and we pray that she follows in her Grandma Karen's footsteps. . . that she'll love God will all that she has, that she'll have such a heart for others, that she'll work hard and give generously. It is a wonderful legacy that we pray we can pass on to Penny.
It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl! It's a girl!
