Haircuts it is

After we left the Civil Affairs Office which is where gotcha day occurs, we made our way back to the hotel.  We made some noodle bowls and had to sign some papers.  Then, it was off to the hair salon.  There was some chopping to do.

Last summer, Gary and the boys made a pact to not cut their hair until Michael came home.  Simon had already been growing his out, but Gary and Garrison had very short hair at the time.  Needless to say that come summer, they were very eager to get it chopped off, especially here in Changsha where the temps have been in the 90's and the humidity is off the charts because of the typhoon in the Pacific Ocean.

It was so much fun to see it come off and Gary was able to save his to donate it when we get home.  They didn't quite understand "donating his hair", but we were able to save it.

First step, a good washing.  Isn't it nice that this young man isn't going to catch any diseases from Gary's hair?  :)

The shaving begins.

Gary is done and soon it will be Garrison's turn.  If you look quickly, Garrison looks like a girl with a 50's style pony tail.

Garrison was quite amused to get his off.

It was so much fun to celebrate with him.

We celebrated by ordering Chinese food afterwards.  It was so yummy!

Simon was planning on getting his hair trimmed, but he wasn't so sure that the gentlemen cutting hair would just trim, so he took a pass.  We were very supportive of that.  Simon has received many many comments about his hair here, and many folks laugh at him and call him a girl not knowing of course that he can understand them.  God bless Garrison who always sticks up for him.  He likes it and we completely support him having long hair.
